Space Station 76 is an upcoming 2014 American Science fiction/comedy film, directed by Jack Plotnick, and co-written by Plotnick, Jennifer Cox, Sam Pancake, Kali Rocha, and Michael Stoyanov. The film premiered March 8, 2014, at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
This is the first film directed by Plotnick. He developed the script through improvisation sessions at his home with some of his favorite actors. The film stars Patrick Wilson, Liv Tyler, Matt Bomer, Marisa Coughlan, Kylie Rogers, Kali Rocha, Jerry O'Connell & Keir Dullea.
Plot:
"In a 1970s-version of the future, a group of people and robots living on a space station face inner turmoil when a new assistant captain arrives, sparking tension. The film's website describe it as a character-driven domestic dramedy."
The film will hit the theaters in fall of 2014 and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (international rights).

The genre comedy/spoof is a tricky one to pull off. Hell, just ask Seth MacFarlane, who tried it with "A Million Ways To Die In The West." Needless to say, Jack Plotnick has his work cut out for him with "Space Station 76," but the first trailer reveals something whose ambitions are modest, while keeping a sharp eye on the jokes.
