The Gunman is an upcoming thriller film directed by Pierre Morel and written by Don Macpherson and Pete Travis, based on the novel The Prone Gunman by Jean-Patrick Manchette. The Gunman is slated to release on 20 March 2015 (USA).
Plot:
An international operative named Martin Terrier (Sean Penn) wants out of the game, so he can settle down with his longtime love (Jasmine Trinca). The organization he works for has other plans in mind, and he is forced to go on the run across Europe.

Open Road Films have just debuted the official trailer of the upcoming action/thriller flick 'The Gunman' starring Sean Penn in the lead role:
In The Gunman, Penn plays Jim Terrier, who has taken up non-violent work in the Congo to distance himself from his vicious past. He gets pulled back in, though, when his ladylove (played by Jasmine Trinca) gets in trouble. The Gunman marks the very first action movie in Penn’s 40-year career.
Besides Sean Penn, the film also stars Javier Bardem, Jasmine Trinca, Peter Franzén and Idris Alba.
