Description:

Big Hero 6 is an upcoming 2014 Computer-animated superhero film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film will be directed by Don Hall and Big Hero 6 will be the first Disney animated feature to feature Marvel characters since The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of Marvel Entertainment in 2009. The film will be released on November 7, 2014 by Walt Disney Pictures.

The San Fransokyo setting was created specifically for the film (the comic book primarily takes place in Tokyo), and it blends together the elements of Tokyo and San Francisco. Rouleau and Seagle’s original comics were meant to be an homage to Japanese culture and manga tradition, so the intent with the movie adaptation – according to director Don Hall (who co-directed the theatrically-released Winnie the Pooh feature in 2011) – is to honor the comic’s original spirit, but also bring something new and innovative to the 3D animation interpretation.

Plot:

"Big Hero 6 is set in a fictional metropolis called San Fransokyo (a portmanteau of San Francisco and Tokyo). Big Hero 6 will be centered on a young prodigy named Hiro Hamada and his self-created robot Baymax, both of whom uncover a criminal plot and must join a team of inexperienced crime fighters,including Wasabi No-Ginger, Honey Lemon, GoGo Tomago, and Fred to save the metropolis."
