5 Character Posters of Queen Latifah's drama biography 'Bessie'

Thanks to HBO, 5 new character posters from the upcoming drama biography TV movie 'Bessie' starring Queen Latifah are out now. 

Directed by Dee Rees, the film cast also includes Michael Kenneth Williams, Khandi Alexander, Mike Epps, Mo’Nique, Tika Sumpter, Tory Kittles, Oliver Platt, Bryan Greenberg and Charles S. Dutton.

Defying the odds against her, Bessie Smith became one of the most acclaimed performing and recording artists of the 1920s and ’30s. 

Plot:
"The film focuses on legendary blues singer Bessie Smith’s transformation from a struggling young singer into ‘the Empress of the Blues’, who became one of the most successful recording artists of the 1920s and is an enduring icon today."


The film will air on HBO on May 16, 2015.
