Captain America: Civil War (2016) Cast, Synopsis and Promo Art Revealed

William Hurt, Paul Rudd, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen and Martin Freeman have joined the cast of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. Hurt will reprise his role from ‘The Incredible Hulk’ as General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross and Freeman will play an unknown role.

They join Chris Evans, who is reprising his role as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chadwick Boseman making his first appearance as Black Panther. Spider-Man is also expected to make his first Marvel Studio film appearance.

The production will shoot on location in Atlanta, Georgia, which serves as the base for the film’s production, as well as locations in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland.

"Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies."

Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The movie is set to release on May 6, 2016. (2D, 3D, IMAX 3D)

    Plot:
"Captain America: Civil War" picks up where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Full movie cast includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt & Martin Freeman.
