After the big opening of Disney's Cinderella this past weekend, Disney has dated its live-action fairy-tale retelling Beauty and the Beast for March 17, 2017, helmed by Bill Condon.
Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Luke Evans will star in Disney’s modern live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Watson will play Belle, Stevens will take on the role of the Beast/Prince, and Evans has joined the cast as Gaston. Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline will co-star. Walt Disney Pictures will release ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in 3D on March 17, 2017.
In exchange for her father’s freedom, a young woman agrees to live with a monstrous beast in his castle, and she may hold the key to his salvation.

"The beloved tale "Beauty and the Beast" will be retold for the big screen with a modern live-action lens and the help of transformative CG magic.

Composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards for the 1991 animated classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’, will score the live-action film. Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) will direct from a script by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower)."
