Universal Pictures has confirmed 'The Purge 3' will be released on July 1, 2016. The third film in the horror series will reveal the next terrifying chapter of the annual “Purge” where for only one night a year, all crime is legal within the United States.
It is reported that writer and director James DeMonaco will also helm the third film of the series.
Also DeMonaco said in a statement:
“I never imagined that The Purge would become the phenomenon it has become, and I am thrilled to continue my collaboration with Blumhouse, Sebastien Lemercier, Platinum Dunes and the great team at Universal in building The Purge into a worldwide franchise.”
The Purge 3 centers around the very first purge to commence. Official Plot hasn't been revealed yet. The Purge series has been a success at the worldwide boxoffice earning more than $200 million.
