Watch the Haunting First Trailer for 'Rosewater' upcoming Spy-Drama

Rosewater is an upcoming 2014 drama film written and directed by Jon Stewart, based on the memoir 'Then They Came for Me' by Maziar Bahari and Aimee Molloy.
Bahari's imprisonment is connected to an interview he conducted on The Daily Show in 2009; the authorities presented the interview as evidence that he was in communication with an American spy. Due to the content of the film, Stewart has been accused by Iran's State TV of being funded by Zionists and working with the CIA.

It is scheduled to be screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, and released in theaters on November 7, 2014.

The film stars Gael GarcĂa Bernal as Maziar Bahari, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Moloojoon
    & Kim Bodnia as Rosewater

    Plot:

"This film follows the Tehran-born Bahari, a 42-year-old broadcast journalist with Canadian citizenship living in London. In June 2009, Bahari returned to Iran to interview Mir-Hossein Moussavi, who was the prime challenger to controversial incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. As Moussavi's supporters rose up to protest Ahmadinejad's victory declaration hours before the polls closed on election day, Bahari endured great personal risk by submitting camera footage of the unfolding street riots to the BBC. Bahari was soon arrested by Revolutionary Guard police, led by a man identifying himself only as "Rosewater," who proceeded to torture and interrogate the journalist over the next 118 days."
