The Drop (formerly known as Animal Rescue) is an upcoming 2014 American crime-drama film directed by Michaël R. Roskam and written by Dennis Lehane. The film stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini, Matthias Schoenaerts, John Ortiz and James Frecheville. It is scheduled to be released on September 12, 2014 by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
