Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi's 'Fugly' was slated to release on May 16. On the same date, Sajid Nadiadwala planned his next production venture 'Heropanti' starring the debut actor and Jacky Shroff's son Tiger Shroff, while 'Fugly' marks the launch of India's boxing champion Vijender Singh and Anil Kapoor's nephew Mohit Marwah.
Ashvini says, "Both Akshay and I share our individual friendship with Sajid and we took the joint decision to inform him of moving out film's release. Both our movies are youth-oriented films and are launching new talent in our industry. So it's important to give both the films the chance they deserve and it wouldn't be fair to divide the audience. Although the genres may be similar, their individual subject matters are very unique."
