Annie is an upcoming 2014 musical-drama film directed by Will Gluck and produced by rapper Jay-Z and Will Smith. It stars Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role and Jamie Foxx in the role of Benjamin Stacks. It is based on Annie by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and is also a contemporary adaptation of the musical of the same name, which in turn is based upon the 1924 comic strip Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray.

Plot:
"Annie is the adaptation of the Broadway musical which was based upon the Harold Gray comic strip "Little Orphan Annie." The movie tells the story of a little girl and her dog Sandy who are placed in the lap of luxury for a week as a part of a publicity campaign for Oliver Warbucks who is a wealthy politician."
