The film was previously known as 'Ghosts' but later on, the makers of the film decided to go with the title 'Jessabelle'.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on January 10, 2014 by Lions Gate Entertainment. On September 17, 2013, a new official date surfaced online and the film was pushed back from January 10, 2014, until August 29, 2014.
Plot:
"Returning to her childhood home in Louisiana to recuperate from a horrific car accident, Jessabelle (Sarah Snook) comes face to face with a long-tormented spirit that has been seeking her return and has no intention of letting her escape."
