Description:
Holiday is an upcoming 2014 Bollywood action-thriller film written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film is produced by Twinkle Khanna, Aashin A. Shah and Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film features Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Govinda in lead roles. It is a remake of a 2012 Tamil Blockbuster Movie Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles. Filming is expected to complete in February and the release date of the movie is set to 6th June, 2014.
Plot:
"A military officer attempts to hunt down a terrorist, destroy a terrorist gang and deactivate the sleeper cells under its command."
Virat (Akshay Kumar) is among a battalion of military officers that comes to Mumbai on vacation. Virat is also a secret Defence Intelligence Agent who cannot lie low, much to the irritation of his friend and sub inspector. During a bus ride, an attempt to frisk passengers for a lost wallet leads Virat to something much bigger. Within minutes, the bus is blown into pieces and he helps cops nab the carrier of the bomb, who escapes from the hospital only to be caught by Virat again. Using tact, Virat follows one clue at a time hoping to track down the terrorist on whose orders the sleeper cell terrorists plan to cause mayhem in Mumbai.
Trivia:
A.R.Murugadoss' 2nd Hindi venture, which incidentally is a remake just like his first Hindi Blockbuster, Ghajini.
Reports of different titles attributed to this project were looming large throughout the production of the film. "Pistol", "Bahadur" and "Holiday" were some of the titles mentioned.
Akshay Kumar's fifth project with Vipul Shah, either as the Producer or the Director. The other projects include Aankhen, Waqt, Singh is King, Action Replay and Namastey London.
Akshay got injured several times during the shoot of this film. One of the times, he injured his foot very badly while jumping down a flight of stairs.
Vipul Shah's film, remake of Thuppakki, directed by AR Murugadoss, will release on 06 June 2014. The movie was postponed from January 10th to March 28th, and then to 6th June.

Trailer is OK...Nothing extra ordinary. The movie might bring some good to Akshay's career...Looks like a 100% ripoff from the original movie, however the action sequences were good. Anyways, looks interesting...will watch !
